Off The Leash Lifestyle, founded by professional paintball players, is a dynamic brand offering merchandise, training classes, and coaching services. The goal was to revamp their website, transforming it into a user-focused, action-driven e-commerce hub. Later, the brand expanded its offering by launching Basecamp, an exclusive online membership program delivering tailored fitness and wellness resources to users.

Challenge

Off The Leash Lifestyle initially struggled with an outdated, static website that failed to represent their vibrant brand. The client needed:

  1. A modern e-commerce platform to sell merchandise, training classes, and coaching services.
  2. Seamless social media integration for easy product sharing.
  3. A platform for an expanding range of offerings, including Basecamp, a subscription-based membership providing access to training videos, nutrition guides, and more.

The challenge was twofold:

  • First, to create a high-converting e-commerce experience that aligned with the brand’s adventurous and energetic identity.
  • Second, to build a gated membership platform with a smooth user experience, allowing members to access exclusive fitness and nutrition content.

Approach

Phase 1: E-Commerce RevampI began by researching leading lifestyle brands and e-commerce platforms to understand best practices in user engagement. After analyzing the client's goals, I designed prototypes in Figma, prioritizing:

  • A captivating homepage with motion graphics, showcasing the brand's energy.
  • Social media-driven product features (e.g., "featured drops") that encouraged sharing.
  • Mobile-first design to cater to the brand's social-media-heavy traffic.

Phase 2: Basecamp Membership PlatformWith the introduction of Basecamp, I expanded the website's functionality to cater to subscription-based services:

  • User sign-up/login functionality integrated with gated content.
  • Customizable dashboards for members to track their progress and access content.
  • A comprehensive video library with over 100+ training, nutrition, and coaching videos, organized into playlists and accompanied by detailed text instructions.
  • Weekly training schedules and tailored meal plans to keep users engaged.

The platform needed to be user-friendly, with content updated regularly to ensure an evolving and valuable member experience.

1. E-commerce Website
The final e-commerce platform was built with a focus on user engagement and seamless social media integration. Key features included:

  • Dynamic homepage animations: The Off The Leash logo animation embodied the "no leash" mindset of the brand, welcoming users with an impactful experience.
  • Product "featured drop" section: Timed product releases tied to social media campaigns, increasing traffic and driving sales.
  • Engaging motion graphics and videos: Featured prominently to entice users to explore product offerings and services.
  • Responsive design: Optimized for both desktop and mobile, allowing social media users to seamlessly shop from their mobile devices.
  • Social media integration: Encouraged users to share new products, further driving engagement.

2. Basecamp Membership
Basecamp redefined how Off The Leash Lifestyle delivered its fitness services:

  • Membership Sign-up & Gated Content: A smooth sign-up flow and intuitive login process enabled users to access exclusive training content.
  • Comprehensive Video Library: Members can explore 100+ videos on fitness, nutrition, and wellness, all organized into easy-to-navigate playlists.
  • Training Programs: Customizable weekly workout routines allowed members to tailor their fitness journey.
  • Nutrition Guidance: Access to meal plans and recipes, enhancing the fitness and nutrition experience.
  • Interactive Dashboards: Members could track their progress, view training schedules, and engage with the latest updates in real-time.

Both platforms were built with scalability in mind, ensuring Off The Leash Lifestyle could continue adding new features and content to grow its business.
